Greetings Readers!
I was about to begin this post by announcing that I recently had the honor of taking my entourage of haunted houses across the Atlantic Ocean to the scariest places in the British Isles. Scratch that (which I have!) – these are The Spooky Isles
As I said, I WAS going to begin my post this way, but I’m sure glad I didn’t because that would have been misleading. First of all,
These houses aren’t mine
They belong to their creators: E Bulwer Lytton, William Hope Hodgson, Horace Walpole, Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, etc. and etc. Secondly:
Most of the houses originate from the U.K.
Even some of the works of Poe and Lovecraft have their roots in the U.K. as well. However, I did write an article for this awesome website. In the article I explain how British Literature has greatly influenced haunted house lore. The article is titled:
Everything I needed to know about Haunted Houses I learned from British Literature
The Spooky Isles collects all things “spooky” from the British Isles: Tales of Scottish fairies, monsters of Shrewsbury, and even Poltergeist Bunnies! I highly recommend this website!
So what are you waiting for? Take a trip to The Spooky Isles.
While you’re there, stop by at my article and say “Hi!”
